It’s almost time…

On March 20, Cristian will undergo a single-stage laryngotracheal surgery—a moment that carries with it all our hopes and prayers for his health and happiness. As this day approaches, I’ve found myself reflecting on the moments that brought us here—the hugs we’ve shared, the prayers whispered, and the strength and bravery I see in his small, determined eyes.

It’s in times like this that you realize how often we take life for granted—the simplicity of a carefree laugh, the beauty of a quiet breath, the little moments we assume will always be there. This journey has been a stark reminder to treasure every smile, every heartbeat, and every moment of connection with the people we love most.

After the surgery, Cristian will need to spend about a week in the ICU and a few weeks recovering at Nemours. These coming days will test our endurance and faith, but Cristian has an incredible teammate by his side—his 13-year-old sister. Her strength has become a lifeline in the heaviness of this journey, her ability to bring a smile to his face with her silly jokes.

We are leaning on our faith, the strength of our family, and the kindness of those around us to get through this. Your prayers and positive thoughts mean everything to us. It’s in these moments that we’re reminded of the extraordinary beauty in the support and compassion of others.

We will keep you all updated.
